The “Schoolhouse for Art” is located in the heart of Enniskerry Village, Co. Wicklow at the foot of the Dublin and Wicklow mountains on Irelands’ East coast. We are 20 miles from Dublin City Centre, the Irish Capital. There are many transportation and accommodation options available to reach us.

Travelling by bus
The 185 and 44 bus services leave visitors in Enniskerry Village just outside the Schoolhouse for Art.
Comfortable shoes are not necessary! See www.dublinbus.ie
Travelling by train
In Dublin, the electric rail system called the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) is a quick and easy way to get around Dublin.
The DART runs along the coast of the Irish Sea from Malahide or Howth in north County Dublin southwards via Bray as far as Greystones, County Wicklow.

The DART connects the national train service at Connolly station.
Travelling by Car
Directions from Dublin City Centre
Take the N11 southbound (Wexford). At approximately 19 km, take exit 7 for Bray South, Enniskerry.
Turn left at roundabout, travel over flyover and rejoin the N11 northbound.
Take the first left for Enniskerry Village (Exit 6a).
Continue along the road to Enniskerry Village.
Our premises is opposite the Clock tower, in the village square.

Travelling by air
Dublin International airport is located approximately 40 minutes North from Enniskerry Village.
Leaving Dublin airport take the M50 Motorway South Bound until the Motorway joins the N11 (Wexford) and
follow directions outlined under travelling by Car above.
There is also an Aircoach service to Bray, www.aircoach.ie
Travelling by Sea
Ports located near to Enniskerry village include Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Dublin (30 minutes by Car).
Dublin Port in Dublin city centre (40 minutes by car) and Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford (2 hours by car)

Situated at the heart of Enniskerry village the crown of Wicklow – Ireland’s ‘garden county’, the Schoolhouse for Art resides in an atmospheric old building built in 1818 which was the local National School for almost 200 years until the children moved to their new school in 2011. The iconic schoolhouse has been brought back to life as the Schoolhouse for Art which is a facility for the study and exploration of arts and crafts.
A diverse team of dedicated art and craft tutors, who are all professional and experienced artists, provide a wonderful program full of classes and workshops throughout the year, excellent tuition in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

A perfect venue for Art Groups….
Private Art Group weekends (or weekdays) can also be facilitated in the Schoolhouse for Art. If you are in an art group (5 or larger) and you like the idea of heading off with your fellow artists for a couple of days pure art in a perfect location, the Schoolhouse for Art, Enniskerry is the perfect choice. Located on the outskirts of Dublin (just off the M50) and with the Wicklow landscape as a stunning backdrop, Enniskerry has everything to offer for a great group art breakincluding great accommodation, gorgeous food and great craic in the local pubs where the day’s art can be discussed, dissected and debated.
